Meowlogism Encore

Just a quick research note as an add on. So nothing fancy, just a list of my latest finds of meowlogisms.

котомодель (ukr. kotomodel’): Ukrainian meowlogism for “model”; used in an Instagram post by a cat shelter based in Kiev, Ukraine, in the caption with the photo showing a black kitten

In the Ukrainian meowlogism the meowpheme is кот (kot), which is ‘cat’ in English.

And then there are a handful of German meowlogisms I came across on Twitter

And just to add #meowlogisms in #German to my ever growing collection of feline-inspired words:

Advokatz (Advokat), Pause Tatze (Pausetaste), Katzapult (Katapult), Miatube (YouTube), Musikatze (Katzenmusikanten), Duplikatze (Duplikat), schnurrstracks (schnurstracks), schnurrtastisch (fantastisch)

translations into English: advo-cat, paws button, cat-apult, meow-tube, musician, dupli-cat, straight away, fantastic

The German meowphemes are Katze (cat), Tatze (paw), miau (meow), and schnurr (purr).

And there are also some new English meowlogisms:

Purrlates for ‘Pilates’, which I found on Instagram.

Incatpacitated for ‘incapacitated’. Other variants include ‘incapussitated’ and ‘pantherised’ (reserved for black cats). This was a find on Mastodon.
