Meow the 40th – A Cat Video a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

Cats are the new apples. This is what a scientific study has now shown. In a survey with almost 7000 respondents, the mostly positive effects of internet kitties on people have been proven.

Internet kitties work on people’s emotions just like apples work on people’s bodies. Both, cats and apples, are healthy, both are liked, both are sweet. The survey is not about the cat and apple combination but is the first empirical study to look scientifically at cat domination of the internet.

The study by Jessica Gall Myrick provides statistical evidence that cat videos act as positive mood enhancers. Though some people might experience a guilt trip after watching internet cat instead of doing other tasks, online kitties could actually be used actively for emotional wellbeing.

For people’s health, cats and apples is in fact the perfect combination: A cat video a day keeps the doctor away!
