Meow the 33rd – Cat Fight

Since 2003 the book series Warrior Cats has been featuring feral cats in a fantasy world created by the authors’ collective known as Erin Hunter. Published by HarperCollins and translated into many languages, more than 50 books, mangas, eBooks, and novellas describe the adventures of cats who, divided into several clans, live their lives in the wild.

With apparently more than 14 million copies sold as of 2013 (according to Warriors Wikia), the cats of the series bring in a revenue not to be disregarded by HarperCollins Publisher. E-books and paperbacks are priced at around US$ 7 (e.g. EUR 5.40 for Warriors #1: Into the Wild). More books are scheduled for publication in 2015. In other words, the Warrior Cats are a real cash cow for the publisher.

The books series Warrior Cats, which is categorised as Young Adult Fantasy/Children’s Books, is also present on the web with an official Warrior Cats website hosting a forum, blog, games & extras, and news, to interact with its readers – in turn, potential buyers.
